Gotland Sheep
We are pleased to announce the importation of New Zealand Gotland semen in 2009.
All Gotland sheep in the US thus far are from semen from one UK flock. This importation will provide genetic diversity in the small pool of US Gotlands. NZ Gotlands are also considered by many as having the finest wool of all Gotland sheep lines world-wide.
We primarily use Shetland and Finn sheep for our Gotland project. Crosses with those breeds provide the size, fleece fineness, head/tail structure and personality we're looking for in our Gotland sheep.

The curl, color and lock structure of even the first generation Gotland crosses are fabulous!
The fleece is in lower right corner is from a 75% ewe who is 1/8 Lincoln/1/8 Shetland.
The other 4 fleeces are 50% Shetland and 50% Gotland.
